Operating since 1846, Lake Compounce holds the title of oldest operating amusement park in the United States. Part of the Kennywood family since 1996, the Lake is home to a variety of rides and attractions, from its historic carousel and Wildcat coaster to the ever-expanding Crocodile Cove waterpark, to the new Phobia Phear Coaster. Perhaps its most noteworthy feature is Boulder Dash, built on the side of a mountain and named the top wooden coaster in the world by Amusement Today. Since 2014, Lake Compounce has also hosted Bear Creek Campground, where guests can stay in their own RVs or in cabins.
