THRILL RIDES
Bayern Kurve
Opened: 1994/2009 | Builder: Schwarzkopf

After taking a three-year hiatus from the park's ride lineup, the Bayern Kurve returned once again to Kennywood for the 2009 season. After boarding one the sixteen bobsled-themed cars, riders travel at high-speeds around a circular banked track. The ride was popular at Kennywood in the 70's, 80's, and 90's and continues to thrill guests today. Riders must be at least 46" tall to ride.

SwingShot
Opened: 2006 | Builder: S&S Power | Model: Screamin' Swing

Reaching a height of 90 feet, this ride catapults riders at speeds up to 50 mph at a 120 degree angle. Due to drastic changes in acceleration in both directions, riders will experience several moments of weightlessness as they swing back and forth. Be warned, SwingShot is unlike any swing set you rode on as a kid! Riders must be at least 48" tall to ride.

Cosmic Chaos
Opened: 2007 | Builder: Zamperla | Model: Mega Disk'O

Following its UFO theme, Cosmic Chaos is sure to offer an out-of-this-world experience to its riders. After boarding the circular ride vehicle facing outward, they begin their untamed flight to heights of 50 feet while spinning around in a circle. Riders must be at least 48" tall to ride.

Aero 360
Opened: 2000 | Builder: Zamperla | Model: Hawk 48

Following the 1999 season, Kennywood replaced the mellow Wonder Wheel for the much more thrilling Aero 360. Riders are strapped to the iconic Kennywood logo with their feet dangling as they swing "over the top" in a 360 degree motion in both directions. Riders must be at least 48" tall to ride.

Pittfall
Opened: 1997 | Builder: Intamin AG | Model: Giant Drop

When it opened in 1997, the Pittfall was the world's tallest drop tower standing at a staggering 251 feet in the West Mifflin skyline. Riders will want to enjoy the spectacular view while it lasts, because the only thing more breathtaking than the view from the top is the free fall to the ground.

Skycoaster
Opened: 1994 | Builder: Sky Fun 1| Model: Skycoaster

When the Skycoaster debuted at Kennywood in 1994, it was the tallest structure in the park at 180 feet and the first Skycoaster model to be permanently installed in an amusement park. Up to three riders can suit up in a harness that pulls them to the top of the ride's tower. After the count of three, riders release themselves with a ripcord as they plummet to the ground reaching speeds of up to 75 mph! Riders must be at least 42" tall to ride. **Addition fee required.**

Musik Express
Opened: 1987 | Builder: Mack, GmbH & Co.

This fast-paced ride is best known for its loud music and flashing lights. Throughout the ride, smaller riders are able to squish their partners as they travel around the ride's circular track. Riders must be at least 46" tall to ride.

Pirate
Opened: 1982 | Builder: Huss | Model: Pirate Boat

Much like its name suggests, the Pirate is a large pirate-themed boat that swings back and forth to a height of 60 feet. Riders will experience a feeling of weightlessness as they reach a maximum angle of 75 degrees with the ground. Riders must be at least 39" tall to ride.

Volcano
Opened: 1978 | Builder: Huss | Model: Enterprise

Also known as the Enterprise, the Volcano travels around in a circle as it picks up speed. Once it achieves a great enough speed, the ride is lifted to a 90-degree angle while taking riders upside down. Riders must be atleast 54" tall to ride.
