FAMILY RIDES
Wave Swinger
Opened: 1984 | Builder: Zierer | Model: Wave Swinger 48

The German built Wave Swinger can be found in Lost Kennywood where it was relocated in 1995. The ride lifts passengers high above the midway as the ride rotates in a circular, wavelike motion. Riders must be at least 46" tall to ride.

Gran Prix
Opened: 1977 | Builder: Reverchon | Model: Bumper Cars

Kennywood wouldn't be an amusement park without a set of bumper cars in its ride lineup. Unlike some other bumper car rides out there, the Gran Prix doesn't restrict your motion to one direction around a circle. Here, riders can travel in any direction on the rectangular floor as they try to bump into their friends and family. Riders must be at least 46" tall to ride. Riders between 46" and 52" must ride with a partner.

Kangaroo
Opened: 1962 | Builder: Norman Bartlett | Model: Flying Coaster

This one of kind "Flying Coaster" debuted at the park in 1962, where it remains a crowd favorite of all ages. The circular ride drops up to four passengers from the top of a hill simulating the sensation of flying or bouncing like a Kangaroo as the name suggests. The best part of all, is doing it all over again several times! Riders under 46" tall must ride with a responsible person.

Paratrooper
Opened: 1959 | Builder: Frank Hrubetz | Model: Paratrooper

Originally called the SkyDiver, the Paratrooper has been at Kennywood for nearly 60 years. Riders board one of ten "parachute" shaped cars which swing freely and rotate in a cicular motion as the ride lifts to a 45-degree angle above the midway. Riders must be at least 36" tall to ride.

Olde Kennywood Railroad
Opened: 1945

Take a trip through Western Pennsylvania history on this classic Kennywood ride. The Olde Kennywood RR offers a relaxing journey overlooking the Monogahela River and through several areas of the park. This is one of many rides at Kennywood that the whole family can enjoy together. Riders under 46" must ride with a responsible person.

Auto Race
Opened: 1930 | Builder: Traver Engineering | Model: Autro Train

Kennywood's Auto Race is a one-of-a-kind classic built by Harry Traver. Consisting of electrically powered cars traveling through several twists and turns on a wooden track, it gives children the opportunity to drive around their parents for a change. This is a great transition ride for children who are outgrowing rides in Kiddieland. Riders must be at least 46" tall or accompanied by a responsible person to ride.

Merry-Go-Round
Opened: 1927 | Builder: William H. Dentzel | Model: Carousel

Originally built for the 1926 Philadelphia Sesqui-Centennial Exposition, the Merry-Go-Round was later purchased by Kennywood when it was not finished on time. Outfitted with 50 jumping and 14 stationary horses, a lion and tiger, and over 1500 lights, this National Historic Landmark is considered to be the "soul" of Kennywood Park. Riders under 46" must ride with a responsible person.

Turtle
Opened: 1927 | Builder: Traver Engineering | Model: Tumble Bug

One of only three "Tumble Bug" rides remaining in the world, the Turtle has been a Kennywood tradition since 1927. Families board one of six turtle shaped cars that travel around on a circular track over a set of three hills and dips. This is another ride that most children graduating from Kiddieland ride first. Riders under 46" tall must ride with a responsible person.

Whip
Opened: 1918 | Builder: W.F. Mangles | Model: Whip

The Whip has thrilled guests of all ages for over 90 years. Riders board one of its 16 cars and travel along an oblong track and whip around the bends at each end of the track. The ride was relocated from the Log Jammer Pavilion to its current location in Lost Kennywood in 1995. Riders under 46" tall must ride with a responsible person.

Paddle Boats
Opened: 1981

Kennywood's Paddle Boats are the park's only remaining human-powered ride and remain a family favorite. Guests can take a break from the park's other rides and enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the park's lagoon. Riders under 46" tall must ride with a responsible person. **Additional fee required.**

Kenny's Parkway
Opened: 1996 | Builder: CTEC Inc. | Model: Chairlift

Kenny's Parkway is the only ride located outside the park gates at Kennywood. It is a chairlift ride meant to carry passengers to and from the park's third level parking lot, while providing a spectacular aerial view of the park. The ride is usually only open on really busy summer days at the park. Riders must be at least 36" tall to ride.
