SKY ROCKET CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
APRIL 21, 2010

Welcome back to another construction update for Kennywood's newest coaster, Sky Rocket. Today's update is going to be a small one, and will contain pictures of the progress they have made since yesterday. Let's take a look...

In our last update, we showed off the return of a good of ours...and boy has he been busy! It's amazing the amount of work they can get done in a single day with the help of one of these machines. Also in this picture, you will notice supports for the bottom of the second drop are now installed as well. Take note of how close to the ground this drop comes.

The main focus of today's update is these guys that just went up today. If you haven't figured it out yet, these are some of the first supports for the coaster's first inversion, the inverted top hat.

Zoomed out a little, you can get a very good idea of just how tall these element is. The funny part is, they're barely halfway done with the supports for this element, so it's probably going to be a little taller. I'm also very surprised at how wide the top hat is going to be as well.

Another view of the top hat element. I have a good feeling this thing is going to look beautiful once its done!

Looking up towards the towering supports for the inverted top hat.

Another perspective of the shear height of these bad boys...It's just going to look so awesome once the track is in place.

A little blurry, but it gives you another good look at how tall this particular element is. I just can't wait to see how tall first hill is going to look once it starts going up.

And we'll finish this update off with what looks to be some new track heading to the construction site. These two pieces belong to the final brake run and if you look very close you can actually see magnetic fins. This is a first for any Premier coaster.

Thanks for checking out today's Sky Rocket Construction Update brought to you by Kennywood Connection. Stay tuned for another update in the coming days as more supports and track start to rise at Kennywood!
Thank you to KWC member Myself for providing the pictures used in today's construction update!
